What is the TGL?
The TGL is a new indoor team golf league backed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy that will take place inside a custom-built, technologically advanced venue in Florida. The league was supposed to debut in 2024 until the host venue and equipment therein was damaged in a storm.
The league consists of six teams of four golfers, with three players from each team competing in a given match. That includes Woods, who will compete on the Jupiter Links team, which plays its first match on January 14.
Innovations include a 40-second shot clock.
TGL teams and rosters
The six TGL teams and their rosters are as follows:
- Jupiter Links Golf Club: Tiger Woods, Max Homa, Tom Kim and Kevin Kisner
- Atlanta Drive: Patrick Cantlay, Justin Thomas, Billy Horschel and Lucas Glover
- Boston Common Golf: Rory McIlroy, Hideki Matsuyama, Keegan Bradley and Adam Scott
- Los Angeles Golf Club: Collin Morikawa, Sahith Theegala, Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose
- New York Golf Club: Xander Schauffele, Rickie Fowler, Matt Fitzpatrick and Cameron Young
- The Bay Golf Club: Ludvig Åberg, Wyndham Clark, Min Woo Lee and Shane Lowry
